Descendents of Abraham and Mary (Dillon) Vandal Abraham Vandal,
a soldier of the Revolutionary War, was born in Duchess County, New York in 1758.
He was the Great, Great Grandson of Evert Jansen Wendell who came from Holland
to New Amsterdam, New York in 1642. Abraham later moved to West Virginia with
his wife Mary (Dillon) Vandal. This web site deals with the descendents of this
family. Over the years the spelling of the name has been changed many times
by different families. Other Vandals exist in the United States and Canada whose
ancestors came over from France and are not related to Abraham Vandal as far
