Descendants of Abraham Vandal
of West Virginia

Abraham Vandal, a soldier of the Revolutionary War, was born in Duchess, New York in 1758.  He was the Great, Great Grandson of Evert Jansen Wandel who came from Emden,The Netherlands to New Amsterdam, New York in 1642. Abraham later moved to West Virginia  with his wife Mary (Dillon) Vandal.  This web site deals with the descendants of this family. Over the years the spelling of the name has been changed many times by different families. Other Vandals exist in the United States and Canada whose ancestors came over from France.  Please see the Quebec web site below.
