18. Abraham STAATS
Major was born about 1616. He died on 21 Apr 1683 in Albany,

Major Staats sailed from the Texel, Holland in June 1642 on "der Houttuyn",
arriving at New Amsterdam, 4 August, 1642, aged 24. On arrival he located at
Rensselamers-wyck under contract with the Patroon, made Feb. 1, 1642, coming
in company with Dominie Megapolinsis. He was a surgeon and a fur trader. He
owned a large
bouwerie (farm). Abraham STAATS Major and Catrina Jochense WESSELSE were married
on 9 Jan 1642.6 19.
Catrina Jochense WESSELSE was
born about 1620 in Leiden, , , Netherlands. She died about 1707.
